My ITI Route to Nome 2022 (tentative)

In late February, 2022, I and several other intrepid adventurers will attempt to ski from Knik to Nome as part of the Iditarod Trail Invitational.   In order to start thinking about this adventure, I have put together a tentative route based on data from Strava, Gia, GPX files from other racers, and my own experiences on the trail.  Importantly, the ITI start changed beginning in 2021 by adding a new checkpoint several miles to the north of the traditional route.  So older trail information will not be accurate for the first 35-40 miles.

For those who are interested, below is a link to my current route file.  It includes waypoints for each checkpoint and required village, but the waypoints are only viewable if you have a Garmin Connect account and a device that is compatible with Garmin Connect.  Feel free to view and download the file, but it's use is at your own risk.

If you have an app or device that doesn't work with Garmin Connect, then here is a link to a GPX file that also has the route (and some additional waypoints for shelter cabins and other points of interest).  Again, feel free to view and download the file, but it's use is at your own risk.

I tend to update my routing periodically to reflect trail reports and other data, so check back closer to the race if you are interested in the latest versions of these files.
